Scotswood Garden is based in a beautiful community garden, with a thriving adult garden volunteering, older people’s services, education and forest school programmes, Sticky Business trading arm and free community events.

In addition to detached youth work, our Play & Youth Work team offers 3 sessions per week for 6-9’s, 10-13’s and 14-18’s, plus 2 sessions per week for families with pre-school children and those with additional needs.

We are primarily seeking Detached Youth Workers to help us deliver detached youth work in the local area. However, there may also be opportunities to work on other sessions throughout the week.

Many of the young people who access our services experience complex family lives, disability and/or neuro-diversity, and the challenges of growing up within a disadvantaged community and whilst recovering from the impact of Covid on their wellbeing.

The successful applicant will share our passion for ensuring that all children and young people have the opportunity to be heard, to have access to information that supports them to make positive choices and realise their potential.

As part of our safeguarding measures you will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide two referees to comment on your suitability to work with children and young people.
