7 to 21 hours per week positions available at Silx Teen Bar Youth Project (the roles can be combined for the right candidates)
£12.10 to £13.50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
Silx Teen Bar Youth Project in Blyth is looking to recruit Centre-Based, Detached, and Employability Support Workers to join our existing team of Youth Support Workers and deliver provision within our Project, which is the largest youth provision in Northumberland.
Centre–Based Provision requires youth support workers from 4.45pm to 8.15pm to support Senior Youth Workers and the existing team in planning and delivering recreational and educational activities for young people aged 11 to 18. The Teen Bar is open every Monday to Thursday. Candidates will be required to build positive relationships, challenge behaviour and support young people with any personal issues.
Detached Provision requires youth support workers to work three sessions per week from 5pm to 8pm or at weekends to contact young people on the streets of Blyth, develop working relationships, challenge anti-social behaviour and provide young people with recreational opportunities.
Employability provision requires youth support workers to work up to three sessions per week from 11.45am to 3.15pm supporting Senior Youth Workers in delivering employability support to young people aged 16 to 25 who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). This role will involve practical support, i.e. CV writing, benefit advice, job searching and applications, and supporting young people with any personal issues.
Candidates must have previous experience working with young people. A relevant qualification would be desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will be given full training in all areas of the role and there will be opportunities for further training and progression.
