Sessional Worker – North Tyne Youth

Role: Sessional Worker (Youth Club) approx 3-9hrs/week

Pay: £13.45/hr + 12.07% annual leave entitlement

Hours: our sessional workers will usually work pre-agreed routine hours on weekday evenings through term time only. 

Place of work: sessional workers will be based at one or more of our village hubs, to be agreed at appointment. We hold youth clubs at Otterburn, Bellingham, Humshaugh & Kirkwhelpington.

Working with us: We are a small and mighty team of youth workers and volunteers, overseen by a brilliant voluntary board of trustees. We support the personal and social development of young people aged eight to eighteen by delivering recreational and educational opportunities. We work directly with young people in community buildings like village halls, sports centres and schools across our area of reach. Our young people are at the heart of what we do. 

Purpose of the Role: We are recruiting for sessional workers who can help us deliver our regular term time youth clubs in Otterburn, Bellingham, Humshaugh and Kirkwhelpington.  Our sessional workers will report directly to the Youth Worker / Youth Support Worker or Youth Development Worker.

 

Main responsibilities

You will:

  • Help to plan and supervise activities, set up and tidy up equipment, sign young people in and out of the club, and evaluate sessions to help improve our service.
  • Follow North Tyne Youth’s policies and procedures, including for Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and young people’s families.
  • Undergo training and personal development as agreed with the Youth Development Worker.
  • Complete formal and informal supervision and appraisal as agreed with the Youth Development Worker.
